You’re a moneygrubber…

…so I HIGHBALL.

Ok, so.  I got hired for an independent contractor project.  You get paid by the project.  So the lady asks me, ‘send me x, y, z and also how much you think you should get paid’.

Little Lady.  You play that game—I highball.  Let’s see you negotiate me down.

To be continued.

interviews!!!

I interviewed today for a competitive and possible future stint.

The interviewer, in my opinion was quite good looking.

I feel like interviews always leave me feeling self-conscious.

And now off to more career focused events!

So, today was kind of stressful.  Not just kind of.  VERY much so.  A lot of things are going on in my life, mostly future and work related.  Basically, the solution—Lunchtime retail therapy at Nordstrom’s Rack!  I absolutely drooled over shoe number two (Dolce & Gabbana).  The problem is they’re like 5 inch heels.  I’m not sure if I can walk too much in them.  The boots were so/so.  I liked the 7 for all mankind shoes too!  Let me know what you think!

The most important lesson I learned today…

…was that excuses make you look COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY STUPID. S-T-U-P-I-D.

I have my third roommate to thank for that.  Want to hear the story?  Well, here it is anyways:

After a nice trip to the local grocery store, I return with all the items I need to make some delicious meals for the week.  I’m quite excited.  I come into the kitchen and what do I see—the glass pan that Roommate3 used 3 days ago to cook.  It’s been there for awhile now.  Our sink isn’t big so it blocks the drain.  I have to lift it up to throw anything down the drain.  Well, why don’t you just move it from the sink you ask?  Well, it is soaking and has some stuff in it that she cooked and is removing.  Also, I am against this in principle BECAUSE why do I have to live with a roommate that makes a mess, leaves it and then expects me to move it so that I can continue with my daily chores?

Anyways, so this unpleasant surprise has basically made me ticked off.  I go to her room.  The light is on so I knock and call her out.  I open the door and she’s lying on the floor, clearly she was asleep. I say, ‘o, you were asleep’.  Well, she was already awake so I might as well continue, ‘there’s the glass pan in the sink that’s been there and I’m going to cook, can you move it so I can cook?’

She responds- ‘Can’t you just move it?’

I respond-  ‘I don’t see why I should have to move it, especially when you’ve been using it.’

This sounds anal and nitpicky for sure, but I stand by my basic principle- you make a mess, you clean it and you put it away.  Don’t expect others to tiptoe around it or clean it up for you.  GROW UP.

So she gets up and does it, but then continues to politely throw a fit that I was being rude upon asking her to do so. That she was sleeping and that I should have asked nicely.  I must have been staring ice picks through her eyes by this time.

I realized-these are the types of people that made the touchdown dance illegal.

So, I promptly apologize for offending her.  But she goes on to defend her actions by SPOUTING excuses.  OMG.  I have never so acutely felt like the person in front of me was seriously an idiot spouting a load of bullshit.  She further gave excuses for leaving everything a mess saying that ‘she was really busy with law school applications and stuff’.  And you know, ‘I just woke up’.  She really stunk up the joint with all the bullshit she was throwing around.  And then it hit me—excuses make you look like a complete, complete idiot.  You either did it or not, you either take responsibility or not.  None of that excuse bullshit.

So, thank you Roommate3 for teaching me a valuable lesson.

of the lately…

…here are the things I’ve been into.  By the lately, I mean like the last few days..

(1)  Listening to New Kids on the Block (their new AND old stuff).

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this.  O yea, I was listening to LFO and they mentioned New Kids on the Block in their Summer girls song.  I then went to investigate what WAS New Kids on the Block.  I knew they were an old boys band, but I had never listened.  So thus my adventure began…

    Thoughts:
           - They ALL look hella dorky now minus Donnie Wahlberg.
           - Jordan looked supa HOT in the 80s, but now looks like a giant dork.  This makes for the argument that guys who are good looking in their teens will not necessarily be so in their middleage.  It’s not even that he’s fat or anything.  He…just…looks dorky.  Please compare him in ‘step by step’ and ‘summertime’

           - I like their new Summertime song

           - They’re touring w/BSB this summer.  I would totally go to a concert.

(2)  Watching Paranormal shows and shows dedicated to addiction.

I enjoy watching things like ‘ghost adventurers’ and other shows that talk about communicating with the dead like ‘medium’ etc.  Well, that’s not so much a new development.  The new development is watching shows dealing with addiction, intervention etc.

      Thoughts:

          - It’s just so damn interesting.

Tata for now!

What’s worse than doing a bad job…

…..is getting caught doing a bad job.

MEH.  I am SO OVER that.

I guess I think it’s rough making a commitment that I’m unsure about and then sticking to it.

Well I guess that’s a problem I need to face.  If I make the commitment, I’d better stick to it.

SIGH.  It’s terrible every time this happens, but I guess I’d better work on it.

SIGH. SIGH. SIGH.
