At work. You ever have the craving for the 90’s boy bands? I mean, I wasn’t even a fan of them during the 90s. I got hooked in the 2000s when people would replay them as ‘oldies’— clearly these people weren’t exactly old to be playing them as ‘oldies’ haha.
Just finished watching the movie “Timer” classified under RomCom. The premise was rather interesting. It was a hypothetical situation where everyone had the choice of whether to insert a timer into their system. This timer would have a countdown to the point of exactly when you would meet your soul mate. That is, only if they too had inputted the timer into their system.
If you had the choice, would you get one?
Further, if this could be extended to other parts of our lives, like if it told us our destined profession: the profession that we were meant to have in the end…would you agree to that?
So, i just returned from an interview for a small side job at a educational startup. The lady running the place kind of bombarded me with questions including how much did I make at my current job. What I’m doing with my future, why the heck did I go to the school I went to, etc, etc.
Overall—it felt meh.
Anyways, I ask her if the site had launched, how were they doing, did they have users, etc.
She answers me very seriously that they already have 2000 (or was it 200,000?) “unics”. I really didn’t want to look stupid by asking her what it meant (sometimes I think its a good strategy to avoid the general appearance of stupidity at interviews) so I just go on with the conversation.
Now, I just asked a computer friend what the hell are ‘unics’. Maybe the lady meant ‘units’? My friend does not know of any similar term.
I’ve decided to chalk it up to the fact that they’ve got 2000 (or 200,000) eunuchs in the company closet.
It is indeed a new year. New’s Years resolutions are starting to go into effect-kind of…part of the time. Anyways, I’m going to try and up-keep this wonderful blog. I’m pretty much going to post relevant photos I take. I just got a phone with a good camera on it—-so this will be much more feasible. Now—I just need to find the usb cable…
I will also be posting and discussing any interesting articles. And I suppose the photos will come with blurbs and explanations. :]
I just received a packet of SAT and AP Bio worksheets from a place I’m going to be interviewing at next week. I was watching a documentary on genetically modified foods last night and thought it was SUPER interesting. I have so much to read about and research; so much to do!!!! I’m enjoying my time here. Eating, sleeping, not doing much. I got to go to Chinatown in SF when I had my last interview on Monday. I saw a lady selling two fish on a box on the sidewalk. I love going there. I now have a favorite bakery in there. I’m still trying to grasp the ropes of Tumblr! Gah, technology!! I was probably a forest recluse in my past life. O, btw, I’m well aware that my sentences are all over the place; but all of you know that that is basically just the way I work.
bye for now! time to do SAT worksheets! I still miss you all!!
Just starting to use/understand how to use Tumblr! Hi to all my friends out there. I had my first interview today and it went well :] I got the intern job over in SF and am excited to get started in 2 weeks. I hope I can live up to it! Went to Chinatown and ate some bakery food and dim sum. Super cheap and super yummy. <3 Chinatown. Miss my friends. Good Night :]
